On July 20th and 21st we visited The Napa Valley region of Northern California for some wine tasting, rest and relaxation. Did I mention that I turned 65 on July 21st! I was accompanied by 3 beautiful young ladies, my daughter Candice, and the daughters I wish I had, Alina and Sarah.
We had a wonderful time visiting 6 wineries in two days. Domaine Carneros, Stags Leap, Caymus, Domaine Chandon, Rombauer and Chateau Motelena. Chateau Montelena has been on my Bucket List since the first time I saw the movie Bottle Shock. Napa Valley is so beautiful and everywhere we went we were treated with wonderful, friendly service.
My favorite place was Chateau Montelena because of the person who poured our wine, Kevin Jordan. Kevin was very informative, gracious, funny and truly loves what he does. Kudos to Kevin!
Note: Everyone knows about Cheteau Montelena Chardonnay, but they also make a Zinfandel. Not as full bodied and fruit forward as the Lodi Appilation, where we live and grow grapes, but a bit lighter and delicious.
